Just How Good Is The Ferrari 812 Superfast?

In this post we will answer questions such as “how good is the Ferrari 812 Superfast?” “where can I find a Ferrari 812 Superfast for sale?” and “what will be the Ferrari 812 price?” You will find a lot of other great info about this wonder car as well here, so buckle up for a fast ride.

Ferrari is saying that the 812 Superfast will replace the classic F12 model. “This is sacrilege” you say, but hold on a moment before you judge too quickly. Yes the F12 was one of the greatest sports cars ever to have rear wheel drive and a front engine. But read this Ferrari 812 Superfast review and see what they have in store as a replacement.

More Power than the F12 and attention to detail

The first thing to note about the 812 Superfast is that it creates 60 hp more than the F12. The F12 produced 730 bhp and the 812 produces an amazing 789 bhp. The Ferrari 812 Superfast is a 12 cylinder front engine coupe that will propel you from 0 – 60 in around 2.8 seconds. If you wait for 7.9 seconds to elapse then you will be travelling at 124 mph. There is a 211 mph top speed.

You will be pleased to know that the 812 Superfast is a revamp of the incredible F12 Berlinetta. What have been improved are the details such as the engine, the aerodynamics and the chassis. The idea here was to take the everyday functionality of the Berlinetta and combine it with the blistering track capabilities of the F12 TDF.

The engine in the 812 Superfast is now 6.5 liters from the previous F12 6.2 liters. An increase in the stroke achieved this. The pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft are all new. The new strengthened block around the main bearings is also a plus.

These engine modifications are fine, but Ferrari really wanted to improve the performance by enhancing the efficiency of the breathing, making a reduction in the friction and ensuring that the car has optimum combustion.

A redesign of the cylinder heads includes intake and exhaust valves of larger diameter with redesigned runners. Reprofiling of the camshafts means that they are able to push the inlet valves further into the combustion chamber and keep them held open for longer.

The introduction of a new high pressure fuel system is a first for a street worthy car. The fuel system can operate to a maximum of 5,076 psi, and this changes the way that fuel is pulsed into the combustion chamber so that performance and emissions are both improved.

Sophisticated electronics control the constantly variable intake runner system and this utilizes engine oil pressure so that the intake runners length is right for optimum torque and power. The sophisticated electronics are a direct result of the F1 experience that the Ferrari engineers have.

How does the Ferrari 812 Superfast drive?

This car really purrs down the road when you are only using part throttle. Even if you are down at 1,000 rpm the car will pull away cleanly. The transmission is a dual clutch system and by the time you reach 35 mph you will be in seventh gear.

But the real excitement comes as you build on the revs. There is an impressive swathe of torque at the mid range, and the throttle response is excellent at the higher revs. You will need to seriously hold on once you reach 6,000 rpm. You will experience an incredible thrust as the motor races towards the red line.

Transmission changed to handle the power and other refinements

The 812 Superfast has a better response and more power than the F12 and to handle this, the dual clutch transmission now has gear ratios that are shorter. The times for upshift and downshift are 30% faster than on the F12.

Electric power steering is a feature of the 812 Superfast and it is the first time that Ferrari has used this on a road car. The electric power steering works in conjunction with the rear wheel steering system and the traction and stability systems, to make the whole thing feel calmer.

The 812 Superfast is more agile than the F12. It now has larger front tires which provide enhanced grip of the road. Steering is all four wheels and this improves the handling especially in those tight corners. The improved damper and spring setup makes travelling over rough terrain a lot more comfortable.

What will be the Ferrari 812 price?

They have not gone public with the Ferrari 812 price yet, but those “in the know” estimate that most of the Ferrari 812 Superfast models will cost in excess of $400,000. Yes that is a sizeable chunk of change, but you are getting a sizeable high performance sports car for your money.

Ferrari 812 for sale?

When will you be able to find a Ferrari 812 for sale? Well the estimates on this are late 2017 or even early 2018. If you want one (you know you do) you need to get your order in fast as there is bound to be a production limit and a long waiting list.

The New 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports: Power, Speed And Luxury

The new Bentley Continental Supersports is the most powerful and fastest car that Bentley has ever produced. This new model replaces the Continental GT Speed as the top model in the range. The first Bentley Supersports was launched a few years ago, and there were just 1800 made but they sold very quickly. According to Bentley themselves, buyers have been pressurizing them to create a new Supersports model for some time.

The Power Has Been Enhanced

The 2017 model has had a power upgrade to over 700 BHP and this has resulted in a top speed of around 209 mph. The same 6 liter, W12 engine format has been used, but it has had a pretty severe makeover. The twin turbochargers are now larger and there is a new exhaust system and the charge air cooling system has also been upgraded.

In order to handle the increased power and torque (which is an incredible 750 pound feet) the conrod and main bearings have been strengthened. This power is transmitted to all four wheels using the standard ZF 8 speed automatic transmission that can be found on all Continental GT models. However the torque convertor has been upgraded to cope with the increased power.

This new Supersports model is 40 kg lighter than the Speed model and this is largely due to the titanium exhaust and the carbon ceramic brakes. The car is still very heavy though, weighing in at a portly 5000 pounds plus. Despite this, the power and torque of this car will propel it from 0 – 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The 0 – 100 mph time is only 7.2 seconds. This beats the previous Supersports model by 1.7 seconds. It is claimed by Bentley that this new Supersports is the fastest four seater car in the world. And who can argue with that?

A True Drivers Car

If you use the power of the new Bentley Continental Supersports it can feel like you have been propelled from a very powerful canon. Driven at normal speeds it is exquisite to drive. It has enormous seats which are very comfortable, and you can drive for hours on end without even a twinge of an ache. It has very large forged alloy rims which are 21 inches.

The suspension has been stiffened and this helps the car stay connected with the road very well even on tight corners. The automatic gearbox is a dream and quickly changes effortlessly to suit the driving conditions. The four wheel drive system seems to work harder than on other Bentley models, and the car handles well even in wet conditions.

There are four seats in this car unlike the previous Supersports model. The sporty bucket seats have been replaced by more standard seats that have multiple adjustments to ensure the most comfortable driving position.

The interior is as luxurious as you would expect it to be. The dash has a new trim and there is a lot of leather and suede as well as carbon fiber trim. There is an LCD touchscreen system which has a navigation system, a hands free phone facility and a first class digital audio system. There will be a whole host of options with this car, and as long as you have the wherewithal almost anything goes. As an example of this, there is an “X Specification Pack” to be offered which will include improved mirrors, duo tone paint and carbon fiber heel plates.

The exterior has changed too and the front and rear bumpers have been re-designed and look very stylish. There are all new side extensions on this model and a new rear diffuser. A new carbon fiber front splitter has also been added. This car will be available as a coupe and a convertible.

2017 Bentley Continental Supersports Price

For this much car you would expect a hefty price tag and you would be right. It is believed that the coupe version will start from $293,300 and the convertible from $322,600. Expect this new Bentley for sale from May 2017.

If you want one then you will need to get your order in quickly as there will not be many Bentley Continental Supersports for sale. There will only be 710 made, and it is rumored that only 250 will be made available to the United States market.

The 2017 Ford GT High Performance Supercar Is An American Classic

Ford have recently announced their latest high performance supercar - the 2017 Ford GT. Ford are using this new model as a showcase for its technological advancements in aerodynamics, EcoBoost engine performance and carbon fiber lightweight construction.

Engine and Power

The new 2017 Ford GT uses Ford’s next generation 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine which is twin turbocharged. Official figures have not been confirmed yet, but nobody will be surprised if the power train delivers around 600 horse power.

This engine is supposedly similar to the engine in the 2017 F-150 Raptor which is also a 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost. If this is the case then there should be a lot of torque at least in the region of 500 pound feet.

A seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission is connected to the engine and the 2017 Ford GT is very likely to exceed 200 mph at the top end. There will be no manual transmission option with this model. Acceleration is lively and 0 - 60 will be achievable in just 3.2 seconds.

The Ford GT has been upgraded to squeeze every drop of performance out of the small 3.5 liter V6 engine. They have added low friction roller finger follower valve trains as well as a direct / port injection system and the twin turbo chargers. The power will be delivered to the rear wheels as Ford has dropped the idea of all wheel drive.

New Design

There has been a focus on the aerodynamics of the Ford GT this time around. To keep the engine planted at speed, Ford has gone for a multi position rear wing which looks similar to the McLaren P1. The design of the GT is a long wedge shape, and it has twin ducts at the front to make it look memorable and somewhat menacing.

The ride height is adjustable thanks to the active suspension and this uses pushrod actuated damping which is inboard. The chassis has been paired up with the stunning body of the Ford GT. The classic GT 40 look has inspired the front of the car. There have been a number of other design upgrades as well.

The doors of the GT hinge upwards and forwards and this time portions of the roof are not incorporated as in previous models. At the rear there are two large fenders and central exhaust outlets which are separated from the main body of the car. This new look for the rear of the car is a much more modern approach, with rounded edges and Ferrari like tail lights and the extra down force from the buttress wings.

There are 20 inch multi spoke wheels on the new GT and the tires are provided by Michelin. They have been specially made for the GT and are called the Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 and these tires have a unique complex structure design. To bring the car to a halt there are four carbon ceramic disk brakes.

Upgraded Interior

The interior of the new Ford GT has been designed for usability and control. The car has a monocoque shell and the seats have been directly integrated. This means that the seats connect directly to the chassis and this gives a more responsive drive, and the driver will be in no doubt how the GT is behaving

The pedals and the steering wheel can be adjusted to compensate for the fixed seats. The steering wheel has been inspired by F1 and contains all of the controls necessary to drive the car. There is a large LCD display for the gauges that display all of the necessary information. The display has a touch screen and Ford has included its new Synch 3 infotainment system. The slim center tunnel houses the starter button and the selector buttons for the transmission.

Ford GT Prices

The official 2017 Ford GT price has not been announced by the company yet, but there have been strong rumours that the car will cost anything from $400,000 to $500,000. That is a lot of money for a mid engine V6.

Finding a Ford GT for sale in the USA could be tough as it is claimed that only 500 models will be produced. The order book is probably already close to full. This new GT really looks every bit a supercar and it is made in America. If you are looking for a Ford GT for sale then get in quickly to avoid disappointment.

The Amazing New Aston Martin DB11

When you hear the name Aston Martin what comes into your mind? Power, class, performance, gorgeous looking, style, quality, panache or maybe even James Bond? Well apart from the latter, the new DB11 has all the other attributes and more. Aston Martin has really moved into the 21st century with their latest model.

As a company, Aston Martin has had its fair share of problems, particularly in the financial area. It is the only independent car manufacturer left in Great Britain, and now it is looking for stability. This will include the introduction of new models and even the use of new technology with electric propulsion planned for the future.

Total Transition

While the company is going through this transition, it has created the very latest in the DB series, and this car pushes out 600 horsepower that is developed from a twin turbo V12 engine. The car has been totally redesigned and is a far cry from previous DB series models. The architecture of the car is now aluminium, which makes it stiffer and lighter, so handling is vastly improved. The design, as always, is very striking.

New Engine

Under the clamshell hood is the power plant that delivers all of the performance. A 5.2 liter, V12 engine with 516 lb – ft torque that has been designed in house and is twin turbocharged. These turbos are the very first to be installed on a production Aston Martin. The engine is coupled with an automatic eight speed transaxle.

When the DB11 is cruising it will run as a straight six which is much better for fuel economy. It cycles the active cylinder bank so that catalytic convertor temperatures are maintained. The performance of the car is very impressive, with a 200 miles per hour top speed and a 0 – 60 mph time of just 3.9 seconds.

New Aerodynamic Enhancement

To make the Aston Martin DB11 more stable at speed, there are a number of new aerodynamic enhancement features that are hard to see on the surface. At the base of the C Pillar, which is where the roofline meets the body, there are air intakes which channel air to a slot which is on the top of the deck lid, and there is a small Gurney flap which will be raised after 90m mph is reached.

The new aerodynamic system is called "AeroBlade" and it is really a virtual spoiler, which is designed to reduce any lift when moving at high speeds. This is typical of the Aston Martin approach; other manufacturers would just have added a large wing and left it at that

Inside The Car

Aston Martin have an ongoing partnership with AMG, and because of this the interior of the car is very “Benz” looking. Not that this is a bad thing of course. The center console and switchgear as well as the infotainment system are all borrowed from AMG. They certainly look the part though. Everything is much improved on the old British auto electrics standard.

The interior is covered in leather which smells just great. The seats are really comfortable and the upholstery is really fine. There is a motorized central arm rest and motorized storage bin lid.

The instruments in the car are TFT and there is an 8 inch display screen located in the middle of the dashboard. You can have automated parking as an option and a 1000 watt audio system from Bang and Olufsen as well.

Style Changes

This is one of the most glamorous models that Aston Martin has produced. The new DB11 is two inches longer than its predecessor and the wheelbase is 2.6 inches longer and an inch wider than the DB9 model

There is a low roof that has a graceful dip into the rear fenders which are flared. When you see the car it looks like it has big hips, but it is really stylish. It has a fastback silhouette that is clean looking, and the long hood and strong lines complete the cars beauty.

What About New Aston Martin DB11 Prices?

The base price of the new DB11 will be a cool $214,820. If you want customization and extras then be prepared to shell out quite a bit more. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find an Aston Martin for sale. The new Aston Martin DB11 for sale in the USA will be much sought after, so you had better get your order in quickly.

The Lamborghini Centenario Makes Its Stunning Debut In California

A small gathering witnessed the debut of the amazing Lamborghini Centenario in Los Angeles. The event was held at the Petersen Automotive Museum, and the press and some existing Lamborghini owners were present.

Lamborghini have stated that they will only produce 20 roadster versions and 20 coupes, and if you are looking for a new Lamborghini for sale you are out of luck, because all 40 have been sold already. The Centenario was first unveiled at the Auto Show in Geneva, and it has been released to celebrate Ferrucio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday.

Partnership With Microsoft Studios

At the American event were the COO of Lamborghini America, Alessandro Farmeschi, and the head of Turn Studios, Alan Hartman. Farmeschi said that that the Centenario was the most powerful car the company had ever built, and talked about the history of the famous car company. Turn 10 Studios is a sub division of Microsoft Studios, who produce the Forza Motorsport game which is very popular.

Very Aggressive Lines

The Centenario has very aggressive lines, and the small audience in Los Angeles were drawn to this. The car has large spoilers, fins, intakes and splitters, which are all designed to make the Centenario more stable when it is travelling at high speed.

If you liked the lines of the Aventador and Huracan, then you will absolutely love the Centenario. It has a body in black, with subtle yellow accents, which make it look really striking.

The front of the car has a really unique look. It has flying buttresses at the front, and a facia that houses the thin headlights and LED strips. The back is just as aggressive, with the three exhaust outlets being flanked with six fins, and an LED strip which covers the back end. If you look inside the split rear windows you can see the impressive engine which is exposed.

The car is very low and wide, which lovers of Lamborghinis have come to expect. This look is accentuated by the aero kit which includes a front splitter, and side skirts that have been mounted low on the car.

The Most Powerful Lamborghini Ever

Weighing in at just 3351 pounds, the Centenario is constructed entirely of carbon fiber. The underpinnings of the car are almost identical to that of the Aventador. The Centenario is powered by a 6.5 liter, V12 engine, which produces a staggering 759 hp.

This power is channelled to all 4 wheels, which is the norm with Lamborghini cars. The only option available for transmission is an Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) power train, and this engine and transmission combination have made the Centenario the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced.

Lamborghini claim that the Centenario will propel you to 62 miles an hour in just 2.8 seconds. If that was not enough, with the throttle held down you can be doing 186 MPH in only 23.5 seconds. The redline of the car has been raised by 100 revs per minute more than previous models.

There is a new rear wheel steering system that reduces the turning circle, and improves handling at high speeds. You can drive the Centenario in Strada, Sport or Corsa drive modes. Each of these will have an impact on the steering, stability control and the behavior of the power train.

What About Inside The Car?

The cabin is trimmed in Alcantara throughout, and there is a 10 inch touch screen in the center stack that will assist with navigation. Apple CarPlay is also included. The interior is pure luxury and exclusivity, but the company has stated that if owners want to change the interior design of the Centenario they will be able to do that. This applies to the exterior design as well.

You will find the start / stop switch and the multimedia controls just below the touch screen. There is WiFi connectivity in the car, and there is even a data recorder which will measure lap times, g forces and speeds when you are on the track. The interior is best described as having a "fighter jet" theme.

Lamborghini Centenario For Sale For Only $1.9 Million

When the car was unveiled, everyone wanted to know the Lamborghini Centenario price. The response was €1.75 million, which at today’s exchange rate is around $1.9 million. If you wanted to change the interior and exterior, then you would have had to bring nearer $2 million with you.

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept Is Finally Here

It is rare that the arrival of a new car could cause so much excitement, but the new Aston Martin Zagato is doing just that. The British car manufacturer has once again collaborated with the Zagato Italian design house, to produce a car that is truly sensational. The new Zagato Concept was recently unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este at Lake Como, Italy on 21 and 22 May 2016

This is not the first time that Aston Martin and Zagato have worked together. Their partnership started way back in 1960, when the DB4 GT Zagato was born. The new design of the Zagato Concept takes some influences from more recent collaborations, such as the One 77, the Vulcan and the most recent DB11.

Designed In Warwickshire Not Milan

The new concept car was actually designed in Warwickshire, England and not Milan. The new car has the same small "Z" logo as with previous collaborations, but Aston Martin's studio in Gaydon, Warwickshire was responsible this time. It has already been named the most beautiful car of 2016.

Bodywork on the new Zagato Concept is made entirely of carbon fiber, and it has a real aggressive design to it. The front of the car has been transformed with a cascading roofline and wraparound glasshouse.

The traditional side strake structure extends from the wheel arch to the door, and this was first used on the CC100 Concept Roadster, and can be seen on current DB11 models. The side mirrors and the windshield are part of the same glass frame, and this gives the appearance of wrapping around the Zagato Concept. The wing mirrors are modelled on those found on the One 77 model.

The classic Zagato "double bubble" roof concept has been used, which is a throwback to the early days of motor racing where additional roof space was required to accommodate racing helmets. This creates a subtle indentation into the rear window which looks amazing.

The Zagato Concept is very well sculptured at the back, which is similar to the profile of the DB11. It is very aerodynamic, and there is a retractable spoiler and a hatch which provides access to the compartment for luggage. The car has four exhausts, and these can be seen exiting from the carbon fiber sills. Bladed, LED round tail lights, are also to be found similar to the Vulcan model

The interior has a "Z" pattern quilted in the seats, and this is also embossed on the headrests and the door sections, and it is stitched into the center console. A cool mixture of aniline leather, carbon fiber and anodised bronze can be found on the rotary dials, facia and air vents. The carbon fiber has a herringbone pattern.

The Engine And Other Improvements

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept has a 5.9 liter V12, naturally aspirated engine which has been given a power boost to 592 hp (600 ps). The engine systems have been enhanced, and the dynamics of the chassis improved to create a very exciting driving experience. Sharper handling will be experienced with the return to an adaptive damping system.

The engine is an improved version of the same V12 engine that has been used since 1999 in the DB7 Vantage. It makes a fantastic noise when it is fired up, as you would expect an Aston Martin Vanquish to do. The older DB7 Vantage engine always sounded good, but the new Zagato Concept sounds a bit more aggressive than the old engine.

What Will The New Zagato Cost?

Aston Martin has yet to confirm that it will produce the Zagato in any quantity, so there is no information currently about the pricing. As a guide, the Aston Martin V12 Zagato was around the $450,000 mark in 2013, so if they do make sufficient numbers of the new Zagato Concept, then expect to pay north of this amount.

You Know That You Want One!

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept is a triumph in design and desire. It has been designed so that those that want it will simply fall in love with it. The details on this car have been given the finest attention, and the end result is a machine that is simply stunning!

The Life And Successes Of Ayrton Senna

For many, Ayrton Senna was the greatest Formula One driver that ever lived. He was F1 champion three times, and started racing when he was only thirteen years of age. In this short Ayrton Senna biography, you will learn all about the man behind the success.

How It All Started

Ayrton Senna was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on the 21st March 1960. He came from a fairly well to do family, and his father, Milton da Silva was a factory owner and land owner. His mother is Neide Senna da Silva. His full name at birth was Ayrton Senna da Silva.
Senna was a very good athlete when he was a boy, and was excellent at gymnastics. He developed an interest in cars and racing when he was only 4 years old, and when he was 7 he was able to drive a jeep that was small and modified, around the farm that the family owned.
He attended the Colegio Rio Branco and did very well in mathematics, physics and chemistry. He stopped studying to pursue his interests in motor racing. His father made him a kart from a lawnmower engine.
When Ayrton was 13 he entered his first kart competition. He achieved pole position in this race. His father was very supportive and wanted to give Ayrton every chance, so he appointed a full time manager for him who was called Lucio Pascal Gascon.
Senna won his first real championship in 1977, which was the South American Kart Championships. He progressed from this to the Karting World Championships, and he was runner up in this competition in 1979 and 1980.

Motor Racing Career

Senna travelled to England in 1981 to take part in the Formula Ford 1600 Championships. He was able to win this single seater racing competition very easily. He went on to win the European Formula Ford 2000 Championship in 1982.
He entered the British Formula Three championships driving for the West Surrey racing team in 1983. He won this championship at the first attempt. In the same year he also won the Formula 3 Grand Prix in Macau. This attracted a lot of interest from F1 teams and many of them were after his signature.
The following year he joined the Toleman team and took part in the 1984 Formula One season. This was a small team which did not have the resources of teams like Brabham and McLaren. Despite this, he debuted in the Brazilian Grand Prix and picked up his first championship points in the second race.
In 1984 he amassed 13 points from 16 races and found himself on the podium three times. The next year he joined Lotus which was a much stronger team. In his second race he achieved pole position and went on to win the race. He concluded the year by finishing 4th overall with 7 pole positions in the Driver Championships.
The success continued in 1986 where he again achieved 4th place, and in 1987 he bettered this by finishing third in the Driver Championships. His first real triumph came in 1988 when he joined McLaren. His team mate was Alain Prost, who had won the championship twice. Senna won his first world championship that year just beating Prost by a single race. The two of them managed to win 15 out of the 16 races.
His success continued in 1990 and 1991 and he won both of the World Championships. He was totally idolised in Brazil by this stage, and he continued his racing success by finishing 4th in the 1992 season and 2nd in the 1993 season. In the 1994 season he moved over to the Williams team and turned down a $22 Million a year offer from Ferrari.

Tragic Death

During the San Marino Grand Prix which was the third race of the season at Imola, Italy, Ayrton Senna crashed on a corner during the third lap. He was travelling at 233 km per hour when the crash happened. He did not survive the accident and F1 racing lost one of its greatest heroes.
Senna was only 34 when he died. His car smashed into a concrete wall. He suffered significant loss of blood and the medics performed a tracheotomy. He was taken by air to the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna, and he was declared dead there.
The Brazilian Government immediately declared 3 days of national mourning. Around three million people paid homage to one of the greatest racing drivers of all time. There was a 21 gun salute at his funeral, and the Brazilian Air Force flew 7 jets in a diamond formation.

2017 Maserati Levante – Unforgettable Impression

For years we have been anticipating a performance SUV from Maserati. The long rumored vehicle is now a reality. Since Porsche first unveiled the Cayenne, luxury SUV’s have been few and far between. Maserati seems to have picked up on the fast building demand and hopped on the performance luxury SUV bandwagon with the 2017 Maserati Levante. Along with it, Lamborghini promises the Urus SUV, Bentley Bentayga makes a play for super luxury SUVs and even Rolls Royce is getting in the mix with whispers of a future SUV in the books.

One look at the Levante and it is clear that the SUV is a member of the Maserati family. With the same grace and anger of the Quattroporte, the Ghibli, the Granturismo and the Grancabrio, the Levante looks as if it would be just as at home tearing through the hills of Italy as making its way through New York City traffic. Maserati describes the it as being made to be an “on-road SUV that can go off road.” The Levant is no less graceful or fierce as the rest of its Maserati brothers, but we would never expect less from Maserati.

The Levante is a true SUV however and is more beast than beauty with its fine-tuned necessities such as hill-descent mode, ride height that is adjustable and a 424 horsepower 3.0-liter V-6 engine. Maserati doesn’t stop there. The cabin is draped in luxurious Italian leather and pairing that with the the exclusivity of the Maserati brand, we do not think that the starting price of $72,000 is too steep.

The New 2016 McLaren 675LT Is A Real Super Car

The new McLaren 675LT is part of the McLaren Super Series with the 650S. The LT part stands for "Long Tail" but this longer tail only makes the 675LT a few inches longer than the 650S. There will be only 500 of the 675LT models built if you are looking for a new McLaren for sale.

So What's Different To The 650S?

Despite the low build number around 33% of the parts on the new model are new. The 650S 3.8 liter V8 engine has been overhauled in a big way by redesigning and replacing around 50% of the original engine parts.

Included in this redesign are changes to the exhaust manifolds and cylinder heads, lighter connecting rods, turbos that are more efficient, completely new camshafts and a fuel system that has been significantly upgraded.

More Power

The new engine has a fantastic 675 hp output delivering 549 hp per tonne and 700 Nm of torque power. This results in a super fast 0-62 mph time of just 2.9 seconds and a top end of around 205 mph. The 0-62 mph time is 0.1 seconds faster than the 650S.

Like the 650s, the power is delivered to the rear wheels and the same dual clutch automatic seven speed gearbox is used. If you are looking for close to McLaren P1 level of performance without having to spend over a million dollars, then the 675LT is for you.

McLaren have made the 675LT even lighter than the 650S (which was pretty light to start with). They have used a titanium exhaust system, a fixed polycarbonate cover for the engine, carbon fiber fenders and bumpers and a carbon-fiber MonoCell tub.

Lighter Than The 650S

These changes mean that the 675LT weighs less than 3000 pounds and for those of you that want exact numbers it weighs around 2993 pounds. It is claimed by McLaren that the 675LT weighs a full 220 pounds less than the 650S.

On the sides of the 675LT carbon fiber side skirts are upgraded to run from front to back. This will reduce any turbulent air from the wheel wells. Behind the doors the air intakes for the radiators have been enlarged and other air inlets have been included.

The Long Tail at the rear acts as an air brake and will become vertical when cornering at speed to slow the car down. It is 50% bigger than the air brake on the 650S but because it is made of carbon fiber it is lighter than the previous version.

Inside The 675LT

If you are expecting a lavish interior, then you will be disappointed. Bear in mind that the 650LT is a "track focused" car and anything that will add extra weight to the car has been removed. The backseat is not included for example, although McLaren will reinstall it for you free of charge.

Carbon fiber bucket seats that are based on the seats used in the P1 are included and the center stack users carbon fiber and so does the steering wheel. If you need it then air conditioning can be added and will integrate with the existing touch screen.

Driving The 675LT

When you sit in the car and start the engine you will notice straight away that it feels different to the 650S. The engine has an angry sound and the seats will vibrate and tingle due to the transmission mounts having stiffer bolts.

If you are driving on the road then sport mode is the best choice as the suspension is just about right with this setting. There are also normal and track modes. The car also has stability control which you can use independently of the drive mode selected.

What Is The Price Of The McLaren 675LT?

What about McLaren prices for the 675LT? Well it will cost you $349,500 for a new one (if you can get one which is pretty unlikely). The 650S cost $84,000 less than this when new. Will it be possible to find a used McLaren 675LT for sale? It's possible, but if you want one snap it up straight away.

Although a few 2016 McLaren 675LT's will be for sale, probably used, you should go for this car if you are looking for unadulterated fun and thrills and power that is sure to entertain you.

The Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Is All You Would Expect A Super Car To Be

The Italian word "Superveloce" translates to "super fast" in English and that is what you will get with the new Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce. With some Italian super cars you are always left wanting more, but not with this one.

Lamborghini have up rated the power output on this model (how does 750 horse power grab you?) and they have raised the revs from 8350 to 8500 over previous models. They have also enhanced the torque at the top end which allows more time in each gear.

New Look

The new Lamborghini Aventador has stunning looks and it comes with hard bodylines and of course those iconic Lamborghini doors. The nose has been changed and there have been other changes such as an optimized underbody panel, a high rear wing which is adjustable and a huge rear diffuser.

These changes have increased vertical down force by 170% and this has improved the aerodynamic efficiency by 150%. The designers have also done a good job on reducing the weight using carbon skin material and using center locking wheels. This has lead to a reduction of 110 pounds less than the previous Aventador.

Stunning Performance and Ride

The 2016 Aventador produces incredible G forces in a straight line and while cornering. It is a power brute that has an exhaust note that just growls at you. The handling was impeccable and it banked into corners beautifully.

The car has the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) fitted which will change the steering ratio depending on what speed you are going on a continuous basis. This means that taking bends at speed is a joy and there is good feedback through the steering wheel.

The steering feels very light and the magneto rhetorical dampers that are part of the push rod suspension produce a really smooth ride. This is a vast improvement over the standard Aventador. The brakes are really powerful and can bring the car to a stop in 98 feet at 62 mph.

The power is delivered by a 6.5 liter, V12 engine that is naturally aspirated. Lamborghini claim a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds with 0-124 mph at 8.6 seconds and 0-186 mph in just 24 seconds. There is a limit on the top speed which is claimed at 217 mph.

Driving Modes

The Aventador Superveloce has three drive modes which are Strada, Sport and Corsa. These modes configure the ESC settings, the damping, steering and the system behavior of the all wheel drive.

Corsa mode is not for the faint of heart as the 7 speed auto clutch manual gearshift speed is lightening quick and the power is brutal.

When driving on the streets Lamborghini recommend that Strada mode is used. This is OK but sometimes the gears are a bit slow to engage and this leads to a jerky take off when stopped at the lights.

The Sport mode provided the best driving experience on the streets. The gear shifts were quicker and more comfortable but nowhere near as rapid and violent as they are in Corsa mode. You can switch through the modes to find the smoothest ride for your road conditions.

The throttle response is also very sharp and that large engine produces an incredible amount of mid range torque. The Aventador Superveloce will deliver sensory overload to you and the Lamborghini magic is still there for all to see.

Changes to the Inerior

If you are looking for a spacious interior then the Superveloce isn't for you. You will need to slide into the cabin through the scissor doors. Once in there is pretty good legroom and the seats are very snug. The front trunk has just about enough room for your luggage on a weekend away.

The weight reduction has also extended to the interior with sports bucket seats and carbon door panels. You can choose to have an infotainment system or not and there are no carpets. What did you expect? This is a full on track car!

What about the Price?

The new Lamborghini Aventador prices will start at a staggering $492,595. Yes you will be getting an awful lot of super car for your money but it might pay to wait a while to see if you can pick up a good used Lamborghini Aventador for sale.

Your chances of finding a new Lamborghini Aventador for sale will be slim to none. Lamborghini say that there will be only 600 of the Superveloce available for the global market. It is probably already too late to get your order in.
