The Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Is All You Would Expect A Super Car To Be

The Italian word "Superveloce" translates to "super fast" in English and that is what you will get with the new Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce. With some Italian super cars you are always left wanting more, but not with this one.

Lamborghini have up rated the power output on this model (how does 750 horse power grab you?) and they have raised the revs from 8350 to 8500 over previous models. They have also enhanced the torque at the top end which allows more time in each gear.

New Look

The new Lamborghini Aventador has stunning looks and it comes with hard bodylines and of course those iconic Lamborghini doors. The nose has been changed and there have been other changes such as an optimized underbody panel, a high rear wing which is adjustable and a huge rear diffuser.

These changes have increased vertical down force by 170% and this has improved the aerodynamic efficiency by 150%. The designers have also done a good job on reducing the weight using carbon skin material and using center locking wheels. This has lead to a reduction of 110 pounds less than the previous Aventador.

Stunning Performance and Ride

The 2016 Aventador produces incredible G forces in a straight line and while cornering. It is a power brute that has an exhaust note that just growls at you. The handling was impeccable and it banked into corners beautifully.

The car has the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) fitted which will change the steering ratio depending on what speed you are going on a continuous basis. This means that taking bends at speed is a joy and there is good feedback through the steering wheel.

The steering feels very light and the magneto rhetorical dampers that are part of the push rod suspension produce a really smooth ride. This is a vast improvement over the standard Aventador. The brakes are really powerful and can bring the car to a stop in 98 feet at 62 mph.

The power is delivered by a 6.5 liter, V12 engine that is naturally aspirated. Lamborghini claim a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds with 0-124 mph at 8.6 seconds and 0-186 mph in just 24 seconds. There is a limit on the top speed which is claimed at 217 mph.

Driving Modes

The Aventador Superveloce has three drive modes which are Strada, Sport and Corsa. These modes configure the ESC settings, the damping, steering and the system behavior of the all wheel drive.

Corsa mode is not for the faint of heart as the 7 speed auto clutch manual gearshift speed is lightening quick and the power is brutal.

When driving on the streets Lamborghini recommend that Strada mode is used. This is OK but sometimes the gears are a bit slow to engage and this leads to a jerky take off when stopped at the lights.

The Sport mode provided the best driving experience on the streets. The gear shifts were quicker and more comfortable but nowhere near as rapid and violent as they are in Corsa mode. You can switch through the modes to find the smoothest ride for your road conditions.

The throttle response is also very sharp and that large engine produces an incredible amount of mid range torque. The Aventador Superveloce will deliver sensory overload to you and the Lamborghini magic is still there for all to see.

Changes to the Inerior

If you are looking for a spacious interior then the Superveloce isn't for you. You will need to slide into the cabin through the scissor doors. Once in there is pretty good legroom and the seats are very snug. The front trunk has just about enough room for your luggage on a weekend away.

The weight reduction has also extended to the interior with sports bucket seats and carbon door panels. You can choose to have an infotainment system or not and there are no carpets. What did you expect? This is a full on track car!

What about the Price?

The new Lamborghini Aventador prices will start at a staggering $492,595. Yes you will be getting an awful lot of super car for your money but it might pay to wait a while to see if you can pick up a good used Lamborghini Aventador for sale.

Your chances of finding a new Lamborghini Aventador for sale will be slim to none. Lamborghini say that there will be only 600 of the Superveloce available for the global market. It is probably already too late to get your order in.

Attaining the Unattainable

Among the fine vehicles listed on GoCars, one in particular has caught my eye recently: the 2014 Lamborghini Aventador.

Ferruccio Lamborghini created a successful agricultural equipment business that he quickly expanded and transformed into what is now one of the most revered and well-known luxury automobile companies.
It is difficult to comprehend that a company primarily responsible for the production of tractors created the Aventador pictured above. Its bright python green interior and exterior cater to those with a passion for beautiful and exotic artifacts. Car enthusiasts might be more interested to learn that at 700 HP and only 198 miles, the price lands at just above half a million dollars. At its heart rests a V12 engine that is loud, aggressive, and absolutely luxurious. Its agility and superb craftsmanship are what make so desirable by many, but attainable by only a select few.

This leads me to the world of exclusive luxury automobiles itself. The Koenigsegg Trevita, for example, is one of the most sought after vehicles in the world. And with only three ever made, it’s no wonder why. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds. The Trevita also has a diamond finish, which causes it to literally sparkle as if it were encased in millions of diamonds.

Next there is the Lamborghini Veneno, which is based on the Aventador (pictured above), one of the main differences being that the Veneno is a street-legal racing auto and only 3 will ever be produced. Its Bat Mobile appearance and L539 6.5-liter V-12 engine with 740 HP make it an intimidating specimen indeed. If you ever aspired to owning a Veneno or even seeing one in person, I have two words for you: good luck.

Lastly, and possibly more impressive than both the Lamborghini Veneno and the Koenigsegg Trevita, is the Maybach Exelero with a lofty price of 8 million dollars. Its twin turbo V12 engine makes the automobile impressive, but what may bring it above its competitors is that there was only one ever produced. At 700 HP the auto is powerful and unique, resembling a Rolls Royce or Bentley more than a Lamborghini or Ferrari. However, it is a racecar at its finest. Its beauty is somewhat vulgar, making it more desirable and fabulous than I would care to admit.

The limited amount of the vehicles listed above gives power and prestige to their owners. The public adores what it cannot have. More importantly, it thrives on the sweet torture of wanting something so unattainable, yet desired by so many.
